In the timeframe 2000 to 2005 he was employed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Technology (Fraunhofer ISST, Berlin / Dortmund) as scientific assistant and he received his doctorate in 2003 at the TU Berlin about GDI. Previously, Roland M. Wagner studied from 1994 aerospace engineering with a focus on control theory and computing at the University of Stuttgart. Besides the professional career he worked in France, Ukraine, Canada and China (Beijing, more than one year). He is chairman of an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) working group since 2004 and he was appointed as an official consultant in the INSPIRE SDI directive by EU in 2005. Piotr WalczyszynAdobe SystemsPiotr Walczyszyn is a Platform Evangelist for Adobe Systems responsible for messaging around the Adobe Platform technologies, including Adobbe Flash, Flex, and AIR. Previously to Adobe, Piotr co‐founded biggest social networking portal for lawyers community in Poland that is based on AJAX technologies and follows latest Web 2.0 trends. He also has a strong background in enterprise architectures like JEE and .NET Framework. His broad knowledge of enterprise solutions comes from years of work at ABB Corporate Research Center where he was managing software engineering group responsible for building mission critical manufacturing execution systems. Piotr received his Masters degree at Polish‐Japanese Institute of Information Technology in the faculty of Databases and Server Side Programming. X‐icco an Open Source "XML Database Engine for Mobile Devices" was his Masters thesis project. It was also his first but not last close contact and participation in Open Source community. He also studied management and marketing at Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management. Piotr was born in Warsaw/Poland but currently shares leaving location between Warsaw and Cracow. He spends his free time with family and friends, but also enjoys mountain baking, windsurfing and snowboarding. Michael ZöllnerFraunhofer IGD - Interaction Design (VR/AR)Michael Zöllner studied Communication Design at University of Applied Sciences Würzburg (Germany) and imedia Academy (Rhode Island School of Design, USA). He has worked as interface designer for several agencies like Pixelpark AG for customers like Adidas, Bertelsmann, Vitra and Smart before he joined Fraunhofer IGD in 2002. His main duties at the department "Virtual and Augmented Reality" are the development of interaction concepts, Interface and Information Design. He developed several novel interaction devices like Cercon Move (Degudent), MovableScreen and Fraunhofer IGD's Multi-Touch Table and Wall. From 2006 – 2009 he was Scientific Leader of the European funded project iTACITUS and developed novel interaction paradigms for Mobile Augmented Reality in Cultural Heritage. In 2009 he developed one of the first iPhone Augmented Reality applications "TwittARound" and developed the concepts of "Snapshot Augmented Reality" and "Reality Filtering / Remixed Reality". | |
